I am very excited about this fantastic lineup that features guitarist Jim Cooper (Detholz!), keyboardist Jon Beavo (Hot Garbage), drummer Charlie Werber (Guzzlemug, Murmur), saxophonist Cory Bengtsen, and backup singers Carmen Armillas (Cheer-Accident) and Sacha Mullin. Our next show is at Cobra Lounge with Arriver on January 13th.

Alex Perkolup and I have resurrected our old band Lovely Little Girls. We collected an amazing batch of Chicago musicians to perform our suite of songs entitled "Cleaning the Filth From a Delicate Frame" that we have been working on for the past couple years. We will be playing tomorrow at the Empty Bottle in Chicago. My favorite Chicago music writer Monica Kendrick wrote a great piece on the reformation and upcoming show in this week's Chicago Reader.

Club Sashay is a project from Drew Ziegler and Randal Bailey where they transform a space into their aesthetic and claustrophobic garbage pile. This time Club Sashay takes place at Reversible Eye gallery (1101 N. California) and I will be performing within the aggregated shambles. This is my first musical performance in a couple years and it is the 'soft-premiere' of the music Alex Perkolup and I have been working on for, uh, the last couple years.

Also performing tonight: Forced into Femininity, Phrogclock and Fancy Space people. Fancy Space People feature Don Bolles from the Germs and Nora Keyes from the Centimeters. It's a glam rock supergroup.

Drew and Randal will also be performing their absurdist DADA garbage-opera TANKKBOX VS TURTLE POWDER. I missed the premier of it this last summer but I heard it's an orgasmic train wreck.

Phrogclock fills in for me this week on the Cake & Polka Parade podcast...

Stricken with a mysterious condition, Phrogclock lives in a specially constructed 'Phrogclock Box' where only his shaving cream slathered head is visible. Despite this, Phrogclock has been hauled around to host many Chicago-area events such as the Bitchpork festival in July. He has also made many appearances on the public access show Cool Clown Ground. Phrogclock plays his favorite tunes on this very special edition of the Cake & Polka Parade.

In order to take a much needed respite from writing weird and complicated music with Alex Perkolup, I decided to fart out the most absurd and simple turds I can muster. This is a song called I'm So Good Looking...it's a fucking pop song! and a rap song! Alex farted out the extremely catchy chorus and odd-timed bass line. Virginia Montgomery does some avant-garde diva jibber-jabber towards the end. Wait...I thought this was a pop song! It is! It is! Trust me!

Ripe: Juicy Contemporary Still-Life at SPAC in Seattle

I have a couple paintings in a group show focusing on contemporary approaches to the still-life at the Seattle Pacific Art Center in Seattle. It opens Friday, October 15th.

Good still life has always been about sensuality. In our world of synthetic materials and virtual realities, still life can remind us of the beauty that's painful and bloody: birth, woundedness, ecstasy, transformation, decay and death. Artists featured include Zack Bent, Eric Elliot, Linda Hutchins, Gregory Jacobsen, Steve Levin, Christian van Minnen and Natalie St. Martin.
